Guide to Buying Arizona Individual Health Insurance
Are you trying to find affordable individual Health Insurance in Arizona (AZ)?
Finding individual health care insurance coverage in Arizona depends on which county you live in. Below is my advice for residents of each county.
Ambetter from Health Net is the only Carrier on the Health Insurance Marketplace so this is your only option if you qualify for a premium subsidy.
Health Net offers a Gold, Silver and Bronze plan. All plans use the HMO Community Care Net Individual and Family Plan network of Doctors and hospitals.
Hospitals include Abrazo, Dignity, Honor Health, MIHS and Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
If you need Banner Hospitals you will have to apply directly with either Aetna (one Silver Plan), Cigna (one Bronze Plan) or Phoenix Health Plans (one Catastrophic Plan). You will have to visit their websites in order to view their plans.
Ambetter from Health Net and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (BCBSAZ) are the only Carriers offering coverage in Pima County in 2017 and are only available on the Health Insurance Marketplace. Health Net offers a Gold and Silver plan while BCBSAZ only offers a Catastrophic Plan.
Cochise, Coconino, Mohave, Yavapai and Yuma Counties
BCBSAZ is the only Carrier offering plans in your area next year. These are Marketplace Plans so you might qualify for a premium subsidy. BCBSAZ will offer Gold, Silver and Bronze and Catastrophic plans.
